PRECISION GUIDED FIREARM

ABOUT

Precision guided firearm (PGF) is long-range rifle system designed to improve the accuracy of shooting at targets at extended ranges through target tracking, Line of sight display, and advanced fire control. The Purpose of the system is to guide the user for elevation and windage by monitoring range, wind, temperature, pressure and humidity, as well as the attitude i.e., level, uphill or downhill and also the cant of the rifle.

System Description

Inspired by missile lock-on and fighter jet technology, the application of PGF technology to small arms mitigates multiple sources of marksman error including mis-aim and shot setup miscalculation.

PGF APP

The number of variables involved in making an accurate long-range shot are many and complicated. The PGF APP allows the user to monitor Wind speed, elevation, temperature, humidity, the curvature and rotation of the Earth, and more all factor in to where you need to aim in order to make an accurate shot. The PGF performs all of the necessary calculations for you and presents you with a firing solution automatically.

LINUX-POWERED SYSTEM

PGF calculates the best firing solution, the system needs to know what kind of rifle and round are being used. The heart of the product lies in a Linux-powered rifle scope. This is not your typical glass scope. Instead, it’s a video recording system that runs the stream through an image processing engine and presents you with a display. The image processing engine keeps track of the target, regardless of motion of the user or the target.

The System interface elements are all powered by a custom python application that renders to the framebuffer. This application is responsible for all the animations, reticules, range display, and other non-video output of the Display. The whole system runs on Nvidia Jetson Xavier NX module processor.
